A Team Logue Case Study
Christopher and Mallory loved living in Toronto as a young professional couple. They were married right after Mallory landed a full-time position with an accounting firm in the city. Both Christopher and Mallory commuted to work via the TTC and enjoyed social gatherings with their friends at city pubs and restaurants.
Within a couple of years, Chris and Mallory were expecting their first child. Many of their friends had left the city, but the young couple were determined to maintain their urban status.
When Mallory became pregnant with their second child, she admitted to Christopher that city living was losing much of its appeal. Most of their friends, who had also started families, had already moved outside Toronto.
Although surrounded by people, Mallory still felt isolated in their small condo given how often new neighbours came and went. Constant sirens and traffic noise were challenging for the new baby and public safety concerns at the local park added to the young family’s stress.
Upsizing to a townhome in the city was not within their price range and inventory was scarce at best. The couple agreed it was time to look for a new community. The only question was where, and what that journey would look like. Today, Chris and Mallory share their story!

A Family-Friendly Oasis Called Aldershot
Christopher’s best friend was living in Burlington South in a neighbourhood they called Aldershot. The couple had visited a few times for swims and barbecues in their spacious yard. Mallory loved how green and leafy Burlington is, and she loved the sense of family and friendliness that permeated the community.
Chris’ friends recommended a conversation with their realtor at Team Logue. The following weekend Chris and Mallory met at the Team Logue brokerage, excited about the possibility of finding their first home in Burlington.
Starting with an overview, the team presented a comprehensive picture of Burlington’s beautiful neighbourhoods including Aldershot, Headon Forest, Elizabeth Gardens, Appleby South, The Orchard and the Millcroft neighbourhood to name a few.

Together they had a thorough discussion about the young couple’s wishes, budget, financial preparedness and priorities such as access to parks and recreation, great schools and public transportation options.
With the Go Train providing direct access to the heart of Toronto, the couple began to realize just how accessible living in Burlington could be.
A member of Team Logue scheduled a curated selection of properties to visit that featured a minimum of three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a fenced backyard. Coming from a small city condo, Chris and Mallory were astounded by the size of home they could afford in Burlington. The couple viewed a sizeable townhome in south Burlington, two newer townhouses in North Burlington and a bungalow located close to the Appleby Go station.
At each of the properties, Chris and Mallory noted many neighbours out walking or gardening, children playing outside on lawns and at a number of parks. They stopped for lunch at Jackson’s Landing and were further impressed by the friendly service, lively atmosphere and the surrounding commercial amenities like the large grocery store, the pharmacy, banks, a bakery, a hardware store, other restaurants and a medical centre.
After a quick bite and a chat, the young couple agreed the bungalow was their top choice. It was within walking distance of the Go Train and the commercial plaza where they just dined.

A Home and Lifestyle the Whole Family Loves
Their Team Logue agent continued to show the couple a few more properties around Burlington to ensure the couple had a well-rounded perspective before drafting an offer to purchase the bungalow. Ultimately, they successfully negotiated an agreement for their first family home in the Appleby South neighbourhood they instantly loved.
Christopher and Mallory still live in Appleby South today. Both children attend Pineland Public School, well known for its French Immersion programming options, and they enjoy backyard barbecues with their neighbours and Chris’ best friends in Aldershot regularly.
Mallory never worries about public safety at the local parks, and the children have active lives engaging them in various community activities and sports. Both children ride their bikes daily in summer; a joy they would not have known living in the city.
Chris and Mallory have gradually made improvements to their home such as upgraded kitchen counters and fresh paint throughout. They have been delighted by the value of their home appreciating, and by the steady maturity of their neighbourhood. Moving to Burlington has provided them a thriving family life they simply would not have obtained in Toronto.
